DIY BEAUTY REMEDIES: 3 EFFECTIVE DIY DANDRUFF TREATMENT

Hi Beauties,<br />
Welcome back to my blog, so today I'll be sharing with you, three different DIY treatments for dandruff and they're quite easy to prepare at home.<br />
We all know that dandruff can be very embarrassing and annoying at the same time, with all the flakes that comes with it but not to worry because these treatments can help you get rid of them effectively.<br />
Before I continue, please note that dandruff and dry scalp aren't the same thing so this treatment is for dandruff alone. However if you have dry itchy scalp and you'd want me to share a DIY that helps relieve the dryness, please comment below and I'll get to it.<br />
<br />
Let's get started....<br />
<br />
1. Treat Your Scalp with Neem Leaves aka "Dogon yaro"<br />

Neem leaves (a common herb in northern Nigeria) makes a great all-natural home remedy for your dandruff. Their properties not only relieve itching, they act as an antifungal as well, inhibiting the over-growth of dandruff causing fungus. Be aware that some people (including me) find its smell to be overwhelming, but who cares about smell when we have a problem to tackle? I don't! I happen to have a neem tree behind my house so I'm good to go. I don't think it's hard to find though is it?<br />
Neem is also great infact a master for acne treatment (i just discovered), so if you want me to share it with you as well, please comment below.<br />
<br />
For dandruff treatment<br />
You will need…<br />
-At least 2 handfuls of neem leaves<br />
-4-5 cups of hot water<br />
<br />
Directions<br />
Add two handfuls of neem leaves to 4 or 5 cups of hot water. Let it stand overnight.<br />

The next morning strain the liquid and use it to rinse your hair. You can also try making a paste out of leaves, applying it to your scalp, and letting it sit for about an hour before washing it off with water.<br />
<br />
2. Enjoy the soothing effect of Aloe<br />
<br />
Aloe Vera gel is a natural healer, it may be used more commonly to help minor burns, it can also help give you relief from dandruff. It works because its constituents inhibit the process of skin cell proliferation. In other words, the stuff that makes it up slows down how fast your cells grow, and since dandruff often is caused by cells growing and dying too rapidly, the aloe can help restore them to normalcy.<br />
<br />
You will need…<br />
-1 bottle of Aloe Vera gel or one big fresh aloe stem, that's if you have the plant at home, I don't so I got this one from forever living products.<br />

Directions<br />
Apply enough Aloe Vera gel to the scalp 15 minutes prior to washing your hair. After 15 minutes, shampoo and wash it as normal.<br />

3.Tackle it with Lemons<br />

Lemons have a tough reputation, but they might be able to shake it-if they help you shake the flakes first. The acidity in pure freshly squeezed lemon juice contains acids that can help break down the fungus that is often the cause of dandruff outbreaks. It’s also free from harsh chemicals and other unnatural ingredients that often do more harm than good to our hair and scalp-plus it leaves you smelling clean and fresh. So remember, the next time life gives you dandruff, give it lemons.<br />
<br />
You will need…<br />
-4 tablespoons and 2 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice, divided<br />
-1 cup of water<br />
<br />
Directions<br />
Massage 4 tablespoons of lemon juice into your scalp and let it sit for a minute. Mix2 teaspoon of lemon juice into 1 cup of water and rinse your hair with it.<br />
<br />
Repeat any of these treatments daily or each time you wash your hair until no longer needed.<br />
<br />
So the next time you get a dandruff don't feel "intimidated" by it, remember you can get rid of it with any of these remedies and remember the earlier you do it the better, so don't wait for it to build up.<br />

*Make sure you even out your skintone with a medium to full coverage foundation, any redness in the skin will clash with red lipstick.<br />
*Ditch the blush and opt for some bronzer & contouring instead to avoid your makeup “clashing” and looking like a "Red baby doll".<br />
*Avoid extravagant eyeshadow and stick with neutral tones<br />
*Make sure your brows are shaped into place, fill them in lightly so that they don't look harsh<br />
*Cream and matte finish lipstick formulas are easier to pull off and looks better than super glossy ones.<br />
*Winged eyeliner and red lips always look good together<br />
*Do the “finger trick” Place your index finger into your mouth and close your mouth around your finger, then gently slide your finger out, this will remove any excess red lipstick that may have ended up on your teeth<br />
USE A LIP BRUSH! A lip liner can help define your lips, but isn’t always necessary. For a clean line a lip brush is your best bet.<br />

There are lots of amazing skincare remedies you can make with items from your kitchen. So why spend tons of money on store bought products when you can make yours?<br />

Avocado, Banana and Honey Face Mask: This mask is super-moisturizing! Here are some amazing properties and benefits of this fruits on your skin.<br />

 Avocado contains tons of minerals and vitamins A &  E, both of which have anti oxidant properties,  it also helps repair damaged skin. It helps heal the skin in 2 ways : it adds moisture to the skin and also looks it in to keep it moisturised a lot longer.Secondly avocado fights the natural effects of aging in two ways. First, it contains vitamin A, which is a form of retinol. Retinol is a major factor in the appearance of an individual’s skin, because it can help boost new cell growth and collagen production.<br />

Banana contains : Vitamin A which gets rid of dark spots and blemishes, it also evens out rough skin.<br />
Vitamin B which delays aging, lessens dryness, moisturizes and lightens skin, it also contains Vitamin E & it works as "The Protector". ½ avocado<br />
1 small banana<br />
1 teaspoon of honey (preferably raw, organic and unfiltered)<br />

Mash and mix together with a fork or blender until blended.<br />

I didn't get a perfectly smooth mixture because I used a fork to mash mine, i tried using a blender but couldn't because the quantity was small and might not blend well but next time I'll double the quantity so that it blends well and apply the remnant on my husband's face lol (if he agrees)<br />

It can be messy so be sure to lie down on your back when you have it on, I didn't lie down so it was falling off and I was busy licking it because it's so delicious lol, trust me you won't be able to resist it too<br />

Products Review: LA girl Nudes & Neons palette

Today I'll be reviewing my LA Girl "Neons" & "Nudes" palettes, this review is long overdue but it's better late than never right?<br />

So let's get started.<br />

LA girl products have proven to be one of the most affordable makeup products you can get with high pigmentation, every product of thiers I've tried has just been amazing.<br />
So if you are looking to get a good and affordable makeup, you can give them a go.<br />
<br />
Now unto the eyeshadow palettes, I purchased these babies during the last Lagos makeup Fair back in June.<br />
<br />
LA girl released 4 different palettes that they called "Beauty bricks".<br />

It comes in 12 nude shades, suitable for every skin tone and perfect for your everyday makeup. It has colors for your lid, crease and brow bone, with these 12 shades you can switch looks daily, as a matter of fact you can go from day to night look and even smoky eye with the darker colors. This is officially my ho to eyeshadow since I got it.<br />

I switched them in the order of appearance on the palette and this was one swipe without a primer, they're so pigmented that I think these pictures don't do them justice though.<br />

Now unto the "Neons" palette<br />

They also come in 12 shades, very vibrant and colorful shades. from purples, yellow, green, blue etc<br />

You can see for yourself how alive and vibrant these colours are without a primer. Just imagine using a white base underneath before applying any! Wooh it'll be everything and more.<br />

The best part is that each of these palettes are affordable,  I got mine for N1,800 each during the makeup Fair but they retail for about N2,500 to N3,500 each.<br />

-They're affordable for the variety of shades they offer<br />
-They come in variety of textures for a complete look (matter, shimmers & pigments<br />
-They're light and easy to carry around in your purse<br />

I forgot to mention that each palette comes with a little brush, well I flung mine away as soon as I opened them because I have no need for them, but next time I'll be sure to take pictures while everything is still intact.<br />

Get the look featuring LA girl cosmetics

I used the regular air woman brow pencil in #18 to fill in my brows after which I highlighted and cleaned it up with LA girl concealer in # fawn. I also use same concealer to mute out any discoloration all over my lid, thereby giving me an even canvas to work with.</div>

I used 2 colors from this LA girl Neons palette on my lid, which by the way is extremely pigmented, I'll do a review on my LA palettes soon. I used the first colour (white) on the inner corners of my lid using patting motion with a small flat eyeshadow brush.</div>

I lined my upper lashline with this LA girl mark my eyes eyeliner pen which I loooooovvvee alot, so easy to use. If you're a beginner or you have shaky hands, try using an eyeliner pen it's so easy.<br />
