Face nourishing and anti-aging face mask Hello Beauties, welcome back to my blog Today we'll be talking about face masks Yaaaaayyyyy There are lots of amazing skincare remedies you can make with items from your kitchen. So why spend tons of money on store bought products when you can make yours? I've tried a few but this particular one is quite new and i got the recipe from www.thebeautyeditor.com so i decided to give it a go Avocado, Banana and Honey Face Mask: This mask is super-moisturizing! Here are some amazing properties and benefits of this fruits on your skin. Avocado contains tons of minerals and vitamins A & E, both of which have anti oxidant properties, it also helps repair damaged skin. It helps heal the skin in 2 ways : it adds moisture to the skin and also looks it in to keep it moisturised a lot longer.Secondly avocado fights the natural effects of aging in two ways. First, it contains vitamin A, which is a form of retinol. Retinol is a major factor in the appearance of an individual’s skin, because it can help boost new cell growth and collagen production. Banana contains : Vitamin A which gets rid of dark spots and blemishes, it also evens out rough skin. Vitamin B which delays aging, lessens dryness, moisturizes and lightens skin, it also contains Vitamin E & it works as "The Protector". Combats free radical impairment, boosts the skin’s sun-rays resistance, prevents and diminishes appearance of wrinkles. Finally banana has some Potassium which Gets rid of dry skin by moisturizing and hydrating skin cells. Honey: Especially raw or unpasteurized, is a fabulously versatile and all-natural ingredient to use on skin. It's full of antioxidants, which are good for wrinkles and aging skin. It is antibacterial, which helps with acne treatments and prevention. It clarifies skin by opening up and unclogging pores. Imagine so much goodness on your skin! Uh-la-la I prepared mine last night, so here's the recipe (forgive the low quality images, it was quite late at night & my camera has issues so i used my phone camera) ½ avocado 1 small banana 1 teaspoon of honey (preferably raw, organic and unfiltered) Mash and mix together with a fork or blender until blended. I didn't get a perfectly smooth mixture because I used a fork to mash mine, i tried using a blender but couldn't because the quantity was small and might not blend well but next time I'll double the quantity so that it blends well and apply the remnant on my husband's face lol (if he agrees) Wash and rinse your face Then gently exfoliate to enable the mask sink in I used my Aloe deep cleansing Exfoliator from my Sonya skincare kit, it's so gentle on the skin. Soon I'll be sure to post my favourite DIY exfoliator recipe for you it's easy and cheap to make. Rinse off and dry your face with a clean towel Spread the mask over your face and neck and leave for 15-20 minutes It can be messy so be sure to lie down on your back when you have it on, I didn't lie down so it was falling off and I was busy licking it because it's so delicious lol, trust me you won't be able to resist it too Finally, rinse off with warm water. It's so moisturizing and I'm sure my face thanked me. Would you give it a go? If you do kindly let me know your thoughts below. Lots of love Hello Beauties, welcome back to my blog Today we'll be talking about face masks Yaaaaayyyyy There are lots of amazing skincare remed... Read more » 7:00 AM +
Products Review: LA girl Nudes & Neons palette Hi beauties, welcome back to my blog. Today I'll be reviewing my LA Girl "Neons" & "Nudes" palettes, this review is long overdue but it's better late than never right? So let's get started. LA girl products have proven to be one of the most affordable makeup products you can get with high pigmentation, every product of thiers I've tried has just been amazing. So if you are looking to get a good and affordable makeup, you can give them a go. Now unto the eyeshadow palettes, I purchased these babies during the last Lagos makeup Fair back in June. LA girl released 4 different palettes that they called "Beauty bricks". There's the "NUDES" "ULTRA" "SMOKY" & "NEONS". I was able to purchase the Nudes & Neons and that's what I'll talk about today. The Nudes It comes in 12 nude shades, suitable for every skin tone and perfect for your everyday makeup. It has colors for your lid, crease and brow bone, with these 12 shades you can switch looks daily, as a matter of fact you can go from day to night look and even smoky eye with the darker colors. This is officially my ho to eyeshadow since I got it. Here's a little swatch I did I switched them in the order of appearance on the palette and this was one swipe without a primer, they're so pigmented that I think these pictures don't do them justice though. Now unto the "Neons" palette They also come in 12 shades, very vibrant and colorful shades. from purples, yellow, green, blue etc I also swatched them to show you. You can see for yourself how alive and vibrant these colours are without a primer. Just imagine using a white base underneath before applying any! Wooh it'll be everything and more. The best part is that each of these palettes are affordable, I got mine for N1,800 each during the makeup Fair but they retail for about N2,500 to N3,500 each. Pros: -They're highly pigmented -They're affordable for the variety of shades they offer -They come in variety of textures for a complete look (matter, shimmers & pigments -They're light and easy to carry around in your purse Cons: No cons I forgot to mention that each palette comes with a little brush, well I flung mine away as soon as I opened them because I have no need for them, but next time I'll be sure to take pictures while everything is still intact. Lots of love and Thank you for your time. Talk soon Hi beauties, welcome back to my blog. Today I'll be reviewing my LA Girl "Neons" & "Nudes" palettes, this rev... Read more » 11:16 AM +
Get the look featuring LA girl cosmetics Hi beauties, welcome back to my blog, I decided to do this post because some of you wanted to know about the products i used to create this look inspired by Ellarie, the same look for the first round face of Reenique Beauty Contest So Here we go I started out with my brows I used the regular air woman brow pencil in #18 to fill in my brows after which I highlighted and cleaned it up with LA girl concealer in # fawn. I also use same concealer to mute out any discoloration all over my lid, thereby giving me an even canvas to work with. Next, I mixed these 2 colors Mac #softbrown and #brownscript Using a blending brush I applied it allover my crease to act as a transition colour. I primed my lid with NYX jumbo pencil in milk to prepare it for my lid colours. I used 2 colors from this LA girl Neons palette on my lid, which by the way is extremely pigmented, I'll do a review on my LA palettes soon. I used the first colour (white) on the inner corners of my lid using patting motion with a small flat eyeshadow brush. I then followed up with the 4th colour on the palette which is green all over my lid. Shikena I lined my upper lashline with this LA girl mark my eyes eyeliner pen which I loooooovvvee alot, so easy to use. If you're a beginner or you have shaky hands, try using an eyeliner pen it's so easy. I applied some of that brown script eyeshadow by mac on my lower lashline and followed up with a mascara. that's it for the eyes I applied my marykay 507 foundation, followed it up with my cheap Ailin powder in no2 I then contoured slightly using my sleek contour pallete in #medium Now the lips I first of all filled in my entire lips with LA girl lip pencil in berry Then I traced my lip line and slightly filled in my upper lip LA girl matte lip paint in #backstage Finally, I filled in my inner lips with my Milani red lipstick in #68 matte iconic I finished the entire face with 2 sprays of Elf makeup setting spray. Voila Lots of love Hi beauties, welcome back to my blog, I decided to do this post because some of you wanted to know about the products i used to create this... Read more » 9:50 AM +
